It started with a Dartmouth-Hitchcock pricing question and a Tuck consulting project. The same question — how do our rates actually compare to market? — was being asked by every benefits leader, every TPA, every health plan we talked to. The data has been public since 2022. Almost no one can use it. Cove Lane Health is the live query engine that makes 500+ terabytes of CMS Transparency in Coverage and commercial rate data answerable in minutes — with a Confidence Score on every output. Our bet: price transparency is fundamental to a functioning healthcare market, and the teams who can actually use the data will be the ones bending the cost curve.

Five hundred terabytes of CMS Transparency in Coverage filings entered the public domain in 2022. Most of it sits in raw, fragmented files. Whoever turns it into a working tool first will reshape benefits decisions for a decade.

Every inquiry reaches a founder. We staff our own discovery calls, our own pilots, our own implementations. The team is small on purpose, and we plan to stay that way.

If we can't trace it, we don't sell it. That principle costs us deals — we lose to vendors who promise more without the receipts. Our customers don't lose, though. That's the trade we're making.
